Treatment Planning for Full-Arch Implantology

Description

Dentists providing single-tooth implant treatment often wonder how to approach "larger implant cases" involving full-mouth or full-arch surgery and prosthodontic rehabilitation. Evidence-based treatment planning, along with digital dentistry and/or guided surgery, can facilitate predictable outcomes to maximize patient satisfaction and long-term prognosis. This lecture presents easy-to-understand protocols to simplify the complex for dentists wanting to enter full-arch dental implantology.

Learning Objectives

  • Present evidence-based treatment planning concepts behind full-arch implantology (e.g., how many implants, where to place, FP1 vs. FP2 vs. FP3?)
  • Discuss the pros and cons behind guided surgery vs. free-hand approaches, along with incorporation of digital dentistry
  • Introduce other techniques to "simplify the complex," such as PRF/PRP, PET (socket shield), immediate placement, immediate restoration
